Real Ear Training 1.6

Real Ear Training is a comprehensive tool for music education aimed at enhancing auditory and score reading skills. Designed for musicians across all proficiency levels, the application is organized into multiple sections to target specific areas of development.

Notes recognition - exercises focused on identifying notes on the bass and treble clef staffs.

Key Signature recognition - utilizes flashcards to practice the identification of various key signatures.

Interval recognition - activities that improve the ability to discern both simple and compound intervals.

Chord recognition - exercises dedicated to identifying chords in Major, Minor, Diminished, and Augmented varieties.

Piano Keyboard - features include a realistic 88-key keyboard, support for multiple simultaneous key presses, and display options in various notation styles such as English, German, Italian, Japanese, Indian, Korean, and Cyrillic. Users can zoom in and out for detailed examination of the keys.

Mode/Scale recognition - modules focused on identifying different scales including Major, Minor, Pentatonic Scales, and Diatonic Modes.

For each module, users can filter questions according to their skill level and focus either on hearing training or score reading. In Test Mode, a set number of questions are presented in random order, with a tailored emphasis on questions answered incorrectly most frequently. Progress is visually tracked through charts for easy monitoring. Practice Mode presents questions randomly without tracking progress, allowing for more relaxed rehearsal. When reaching the end of the question set, the cycle restarts automatically, facilitating continuous practice.
